Amanda Newham
FOUNDER
Amanda Newham of Chevin Forest School has been working with children and training in the children’s workforce since 1995 as a Primary school Teacher.
Amanda is experienced in working with children of all ages and adults. She has worked with and for a number of community and voluntary sector groups, Schools, Early Years settings - One of those was the Chevin Wool Project in Otley.
Amanda first undertook Forest School training in 2013, and has completed the Forest School OCN Level 3 delivered by Forest School Education. She is now an accredited Forest School leader. Amanda holds a PGCE and is also a trained First Aider.
Before setting up Chevin Forest school in 2016, Amanda worked for Leeds City Council. The role also included working with a wide range of settings and schools to improve the quality of Forest School provision, delivering training which included the Leeds Forest School Network.
Previous to this Amanda had been a primary school teacher for 20 years. The Chevin Forest School supports the surrounding area, including Otley, Ilkley, Bradford, Burley in Wharfedale, Pool in Wharfedale, Guiseley, Menston, Yeadon, Bramhope, Leeds and beyond. Get in touch to find out more!
Locations
First up, the wonderful Chevin Forest. If an event says we are that "Chevin Forest" then we meet at the white House up Jonny Lane off Birdcage Walk LS21 3JL.
Second up, we also meet at Gallows Hill near the riverside. Here we can play in the water with all sorts of exciting activities! Don't worry - all safe though mums and dads!
Thirdly we also meet at Gledhow Valley Woods entrance to the woods opposite Gledhow Park Drive - We meet at the bridge
